We're recently completed work on a restoration on a 1964 Mini Cooper S!
Our client envisioned a 'cool London zoom-around Mini,' transitioning from a white classic to a striking Brewster Green with a black roof. With a clear vision in mind, the journey of this Mini Cooper S restoration began.
At Mini Sport, our experts started with a meticulous examination, pinpointing areas of concern and parts needing attention before the resplendent respray could commence. Luckily, this Cooper S was in decent shape, requiring only a few minor body repairs.
But first, the Mini was to be completely stripped down to a bare shell, before moving to the bodyshop for the restoration to begin.
The floor proved to be a bit of a challenge, with lurking rust issues that demanded meticulous attention. It had to be stripped back to bare metal and carefully prepped before the vibrant new paint could find its home.
Small repairs were deftly executed, including the replacement of an A Panel. With precision and care, both inside and out, the Mini Cooper S was painted in its new colour, even the Roll Cage got the treatment, harmonising with the body.
Post-paint, the Mini's shell returned to Mini Sport's Fitting Bays, patiently awaiting its reassembly into a road-ready Mini. Soundproofing and carpets were deftly fitted, ensuring a comfortable ride.
The wiring underwent a thorough check before the reattachment of the "Works Type" Dash. And as the engine found its home once more, we neared the finish line.
Mini Sport's Managing Director, Chris Harper, shared his delight: "We have been creating a beautiful Mini Cooper S for a customer over the last few weeks to his own specification, it is an absolute stunner... Please take a look at the photos and decide for yourself, maybe you will get some inspiration, tips or ideas..."
