Securing the Battery: Installation Tips
Aluminium Battery Tray: We used an aluminium battery tray, bolted it through the bottom of the battery box and cushioned with a neoprene mat to minimise vibration. This setup offered stability without compromising on weight.
Custom Retention: A standard metal battery strap couldn’t be used due to interference with the terminals. Instead, we used a ratchet strap that we cut down and fed under the aluminium tray to securely hold the battery in place, ensuring it stays put even in the event of an inversion.
Cable Management: Once the battery is positioned, trim the positive cable to leave some slack, avoiding any stress on the connections. The earth cable should be clearly marked with a green strip to meet race regulations.
